Brown meat in oil, add onions and saute together until onions are soft. Add mushrooms and cook until soft. Add wine, and simmer for 10 minutes, until liquid is reduced to 1/2. Add broth and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer on low, while noodles are cooking.
Combine sour cream, soup and water. Mix until smooth with a whisk. Add to meat mixture in large pot and increase temperature to medium-high. Do not boil, but simmer until ready to serve dinner.
Serve over cooked, hot noodles.
