Chicken Parmesan
🍽 Bite of the Week features Fresh Local Ontario Chicken Breasts
👇🏻 Here’s a market fresh meal idea:
Ingredients:
– 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 eggs, beaten
– 1 cup breadcrumbs
– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– Fresh basil for garnish
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in the beaten eggs, and then coat with a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
Place the browned chicken in a baking dish and top with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with fresh basil and serve with pasta or a side salad.
