Crispy Chicken Schnitzel with Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans & Gravy

🍽 Bite of the Week features Fresh Made in Store Chicken Schnitzel

👇🏻 Here’s a market fresh meal idea:

Ingredients:

For the Chicken Schnitzel:

– 4 Schinkels’ Chicken Schnitzels (breaded, ready to cook)

– 2 tbsp vegetable oil or butter (for pan-frying)

For the Garlic Mashed Potatoes:

– 2 lbs russet or yellow potatoes, peeled and cubed

– 4 cloves garlic, peeled

– ½ cup milk

– ¼ cup butter

– Salt & pepper to taste

For the Roasted Green Beans:

– 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed

– 1 tbsp olive oil

– Salt & pepper

Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice or sprinkle of parmesan

For the Gravy:

– 1½ cups store-bought or homemade brown gravy (Schinkels’ Meat Market has a great selection in store!)

Directions:

Cook the Potatoes & Garlic:

1. Place potatoes and garlic cloves in a pot of salted water.

2. Bring to a boil and cook until potatoes are fork-tender (about 15–20 minutes).

3. Drain and return to pot. Mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.

Roast the Green Beans:

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

3. Toss green beans with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then spread on a baking sheet.

3. Roast for 12–15 minutes, until lightly blistered and tender-crisp.

Cook the Chicken Schnitzel:

1. Heat 2 tbsp oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

2. Add schnitzels and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temp: 165°F).

3. Remove and rest briefly on paper towel.

Warm the Gravy:

In a small saucepan, heat the gravy on low until warmed through, stirring occasionally.

Plate & Serve:

Plate each schnitzel with a generous scoop of mashed potatoes, roasted green beans, and a drizzle (or more!) of hot gravy.
